Pop Up and Go
This book was
inspired by a news item I saw on TV whilst travelling in the USA.
According to
the newscaster a passenger travelling on a plane prior to landing at Los
Angeles airport witnessed the sight of an old man flying passed seated in a
garden chair suspended by a net crammed full of inflated balloons. My first
thought was, this is a hoax I believed it to be so until it was reported
next day. An old man was recovered in the wreckage of a contraption described by
the passenger many miles from his home. Questioned by the police he could not
account for how he arrived there. Was it true had he accomplished flight using
only helium inflated party balloons?
Who cares?
True or not true, it gave me the incentive to write a good adventure story based
on the incident
